A perfect storm led to a dramatic climb in homicides – 100 more in one year.

There was the Covid pandemic residual impact in 2020 and a year later, the Tennessee Legislature gave the state the loosest gun laws in the U.S.   Result: historic numbers of homicides with yet another record expected to be set again this year.
