ICE is costing Memphis jobs – 4,522 to be precise.
That’s according to the Brookings Institution, which says there has been a 256% increase in enforcement.
In a city that is losing jobs, this should be reason enough for political and business leaders to question the wisdom of disrupting employment. It’s also reason enough for headlines in the media.
It has cost 86 surge cities 668,000 jobs.
