Memphis City Watch is a blog being written by graduate students in urban planning at University of Memphis.  The project is an outgrowth of the class on urban revitalization taught by Professor Emeritus Gene Pearson.  By the way, if you didn’t read Dr. Pearson’s recent Smart City Memphis post, you need to check it out.

The journal by his students are about the economy and neighborhoods of Memphis and Shelby County, emphasizing facts and commentary about public policy and conditions for housing, businesses, population, land, facilities, and services in neighborhoods, Planning Districts, and the Memphis Metropolitan Area.

The blog’s most recent post is about the satellite code enforcement office in a mobile home in a neighborhood – something that no mere mortal would be allowed to do – and that it exists in a neighborhood with vacant buildings begging for adaptive reuse.
